Bob Vincent and his wife Doreen are the team at Country Contrast, based in Bradford, with Bob making the miniatures and Doreen working behind the scenes, as well as running her own doll’s house fairs: the Stafford Fair and the Leeds Doll’s House Fair – the oldest in the country, affectionately known as the Pudsey Fair which she started in 1982.

Bob has been making miniatures since 1991, choosing food and kitchenware as they were close to his heart from childhood days, and doing “a bit of cheffing” before becoming a lorry driver.

However, when Bob took up miniatures as a form of relaxation, he hadn’t known that it would also result in him marrying the doll’s house fair organiser!

“I tried the Pudsey Fair and Doreen put me on the waiting list until there was a space for me!” said Bob who then wooed her with his singing. The couple married in 2004 in Las Vegas!

A show for everyone who loves miniatures. Started in 1983 and currently at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK twice a year. The show regularly features the finest miniature craftspeople from around the world.
