I am a doll artist and miniaturist, and though I have always loved miniatures, I only began making dolls in 2010. I love making dolls because it combines all my interests and being able to put all these interests in a doll is just fantastic.
I hand-make OOAK eco-dolls (most of which are posable) in 1/12th, and smaller scales. My dolls include fashion dolls, aliens and anthropomorphic animals (human bodies with animal faces ) such as cats, badgers, foxes, farm and endangered animals.
They are made from paperclay, terracotta stoneware, kapok, organic unbleached cotton or undyed Romanian hemp and colour-grown organic cotton yarn, or recycled materials; and painted with non-toxic eco-paints. I dye and print the fabrics and yarn (for the hair) myself with plant dyes without any fixer or mordant.
All my dolls are made with eco, vegan and sustainably sourced and produced materials from ethical companies, and as far as possible from within Europe (to reduce ‘raw material mileage’).
I also undertake commissions.
