Peter Lee's Regal Cinema
Those of you who have followed the collections of Peter and Sally Lee over the years may be interested to learn of the final destination of a few of the pieces. Peter and Sally were regular exhibitors at Miniatura for many years with their extraordinary models ranging from a model of Vivienne Green’s Rotunda to a Bus Station. The standard of their work has always been second to none as so many visitors will doubtless remember.
The three ‘Regal’ cinema models are going to Bletchley Park in an exciting development by the Projected Picture Trust and will remain as a permanent part of their extensive collection. Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire is where Winston Churchill had his secret computer and intelligence base during the war. It is now a museum, which is open to the public and has its own cinema showing newsreel footage from the 1940’s.
It is possible that other pieces made by Peter and Sally may join these in the future although nothing definite has yet been decided.
Discussions are currently in progress for four more models to go to Bletchley Park, this time on temporary loan. They are the Bus Station, Scarborough's Sun Court, The Hippodrome and the Forum. All of these have been exhibited at various times to Miniatura visitors, and we will post up more information as soon as we have it.
